Rainbow
We were coming home from Pacifica and saw a rainbow, so we pulled into Lake Merced to take pictures of it.

Such a nice composition, and beautiful out-of-focus background colors and "non-shapes"
My only nit is that I would like to see some more detail in the leaf.
The reason you don't see photos like this from me is that they are very hard to do - the depth-of-field is so minuscule, and the slightest breeze can ruin your day. So bottom line is that you did very well on this one, Lena - said...

Thanks for your comments Steve...:-)
I know that I am not good for focus it detail, that's why I asked Warren to join in " Blogspot " because it has many Professional of photographyers. I am glad of a member in this blog...:-)

Nice photo of the sun through the trees Warren. Do you ever notice that on cold days, it seems that digital cameras may seem to take better photos?

Thanks Ted :)
I can't say that I've ever noticed that about digital cameras.

Ocean Beach Sunset
I was out there last night too! I decided to go out because it has been raining so much lately, and I thought the lingering clouds would look good around sunset time. I was near the Balboa Street side of Ocean Beach. It was too cold and windy, so I only stayed a few minutes.

Not that it makes any diference to the quality of this series Warren, but I think these might be called Sanderlings, and not the threatened Snowy Plover that caused such an uproar. It looks like the new lens is being put to good use! Dan

Hey, thanks Dan! I researched for a while, and I couldn't find Sanderlings for some reason, so I went with the next closest in appearance (according to the online guides).

Fantastic ! so lovely this little cute birds series, nice detail close-up, excellent captured. You are lucky, I envy you...:-)
I am enjoying to see them in you pics. I really like to see that scene... and I ran into one time at China Beach, they ran very fast when the waves came, so I grabbed not that cleary, I was using my D90 Nikon 18x200 lens...

On the Edge
This is one of the first shots from my newly acquired Lumix 100-300mm lens. I bought the lens along with the G5 because of a great promotion on Amazon.
This lens is amazingly sharp and stable even at full zoom. I am very impressed by its performance even after using it for just one session yesterday at Pacifica.

Stevie-Come-Lately here, but I echo the previous comments.
I found myself gazing at this one for a long, long time. So simple, yet so many things to look at... the sweep of the terrain, each individual figure, figures in pairs and their relating to each other...and as Warren said, even Grandpa's LCD!
Is that Warren & Gail in the middle?
Nice Stairs
This is one of the first shots out of my new Lumix G5. I finally decided to upgrade to the latest generation of Micro 4/3 body by Panasonic. Obviously, after almost three years shooting with it, I am still committed to the Micro 4/3 format as a compact, lightweight, high quality system that for me, will be used extensively for travel and general photography.
How many of you participated in the Dec 15/16 Decisive Challenge? It was raining here in San Francisco on the 15th, but I still went out and took pictures with an umbrella in one hand, and my camera in my other hand, shooting one-handed. :) The weather was better on Sunday, the 16th. Gail and I shot on both days, and we both got enough shots to choose one for our entries. Remember, do not post your entries anywhere on the web before the contest voting is over, or you will be disqualified.
However, that doesn't stop us from showing all those other nice shots that did not make it as your contest entry. I would love to see them here.

I like #3 too. The main subjects are given their space and are periscoping the region. The mountains in the distance give more to wonder about, too bad for the flowers -they are rooted.

Decisive Warmups
Priming my brain on Cartier-Bresson... http://youtu.be/MW7I3GBdsBw ... Really, such a beautiful thinker.
The final comments on the YES affirmation; "even if it's something that you hate --YES". It brought back to my conscience a photo I took in Chile. At the market, all the fresh foods, delicious cheese and murta berries. We loved eating them so much. They were different, and wholesome. For some reason my dad gets such a kick out of this pic. It makes him have one of those hardy laughs, straight from the gut. The worker is oblivious to those pigeon feet and pigeon pecks at the cheese. I think it was from him commenting on the sanitary state that brought me to an awareness of it, because I didn't want to see this, and yet felt so compelled to *click* that picture. But I do not "LIKE" this picture, because it opposes what I want to believe about the purity and safety of food. I just want to eat and be merry! But here, this makes me think twice for the remainder of the trip about foods I ate and will eat. For sure has that YES affirmation, YES I hate this!
The decisive challenge just got more challenging for me . .
