This immediately came to mind, a quirky little verse I learned as a kid:
One bright day in the middle of the night,
Two dead men got up to fight,
Back to back, they faced one another,
Drew their swords and shot one another....
If you don't believe this lie is true
Ask the blind man
He saw it too
Really great photo, I love the mirroring and simplicity.

Turtle's Life
Continuing to post shots from Stow Lake, turtles sunning on a log. Turtle's Life: sunning, eating, swimming, sleeping, I'd like to do that.

Thanks for the comment.
I took two shots of this scene. On the first shot, she was stuffing her mouth with a sandwich. It was not a very attractive pose, so I decided to show this one instead :).

Wow, I really like it rendered in B&W - I'm surprised at myself, as I usually think of nature photos of being in color. - said...

Let's Kick This Off!
I was out today taking new pictures for this month's project, but I thought of this one from my archives as a broad interpretation of the theme!
This was taken in 2011 at a car show. This huge crowd was waiting in line to get into the show.

Butterfly Tree
We visited the Pismo Beach Butterfly Grove on our trip down south last November. The Monarchs look like leaves on the tree when they are resting.

Wow!.. now THAT's special!
Nice bokeh, too.
I've only been in Pismo Beach twice, once in 1989 and then in 1993 - I love that place!
Isn't that where Bugs Bunny was always trying to go to... and kept taking a wrong turn at Albuquerque, ending up in Alaska or wherever? - Warren T. said...

Thanks Steve.
Bugs Bunny's original line was: "I KNEW I 'shoulda' made that left 'toin' in 'Albakoikie'"

The appearance of Santa in the girl's reflection is awesomely perfect. Like it's a figment of her imagination as she window shops with her dad.

Amazing capture of depth of field and stop action on the bird in flight. You really captured the moment of an older woman enjoying the peace of feeding the animals around a little pond.

My favorite it the 3rd one - I really like the way you connected the big sunflowers in the foreground all the way to the mountains in the background.

-
I like the last one, shiny and detail, as smiling to you so lovely....:-)
Lena, - Lea said...

I like #3 too. The main subjects are given their space and are periscoping the region. The mountains in the distance give more to wonder about, too bad for the flowers -they are rooted.

I vote for #3, I like the larger DOF for the field.

The final one is spectacular! Surging energy but still the birds are so calm and at ease, like the easy flow of the mountainous horizon.
