Sometimes, I'm just in the mood for a black & white picture. LOL.

Sometimes my cell phone takes amazingly nice pictures. Of course, for this one, I did a bit of post processing in Lightroom, as I do for just about all my shots.

Is anyone seeing these posts, or is this place dead?

Stranger Becomes Friend

Here's is Keshav, a very nice guy who I met the other day because he bought one of my lenses, the Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 Color Skopar Classic. We arranged to meet at a local coffee shop (picture #1) to do the deal. I really took a liking to him, so I invited him to lunch where we ordered one of his favorite dishes, Szechuan Shrimp (picture #2). After lunch, I invited him over to our house where I gave him my Fed 3b w/ 50mm Industar 61 (picture #3). I was planning to give away the Fed anyway, and I couldn't think of a more deserving photographer. Keshav is currently in the Bay Area for a summer internship, and he will be returning to Duke University in the Fall to finish his Business Degree. I also asked Keshav to join our blog. You'll be seeing more from Keshav soon. This series is interesting because each picture was taken with a different camera (Lumix G5 w/Lumix 20mm f1.7, HTC One X cell phone, and finally, Nikon D200 w/24mm f2.8 AF)

Keshav  is relatively new to photography, but very enthusiastic. He primarily shoots the street genre.

Richardson Bay

It was an absolutely gorgeous day last Sunday for a bike ride (and for anything else for that matter). I rode from my house to as far as Mill Valley and back, a 28 mile round trip. I had to stop to take a picture here. This was taken at Richardson Bay, just north of Sausalito. You can see the houseboats in the distance.

I am back into cycling after a long time out of it. Since I carry a cell phone with me on my rides and the cell phone has a decent camera in it, it's fun and challenging to take pictures on my rides. I like to compose shots during rest stops and it's interesting to include the bike in the compositions.

These two are from a few days ago, taken in the Presidio.

Pulgas Water Temple

I went for a bike ride at Crystal Springs road with my friend,Greg, last Sunday morning, and we took a detour to check out the Pulgas Water Temple. The Pulgas Water Temple is where the Hetch Hetchy water supply flows into Crystal Springs Reservoir.

In honor today's unexpected rain in San Francisco, here's a picture that I took last June on the train somewhere between Paris and Cologne, Germany.

It was raining very hard that day, and it made for an interesting blurry motion picture on the outside of the train.

HTC Panorama Tests

I tested the automatic panorama function of my HTC One X's camera. It worked amazingly well. The camera takes five shots automatically, all you have to do is press the shutter once, and then pan the camera from left to right.
