I think we're in a dinosaur parade, riding the stegosaurus float. Awesome pov, I love the layers and bright pops of red. The landmark tower fading away, just casually placed in the image... Love it!
It's amazing view. Red ice plant in foreground, Sutro Tower and the mountain layers, because of the weather,it seemed mist... very spectacular. lovely image.

Welcome back :).
colorful shot...it looks like the participants had some sake before the parade.

Nice image Eric, captured the essence of a Sake fueled moment.
Dan
Thanks guys. I wish I had some of that sake.

A note about labels: On Blogger (as opposed to Aminus3), you can have spaces in your labels, but you need to separate them with commas otherwise it will consider the entire phrase to be the label.
Also, please try to use labels that already exist before creating a new one.
Thanks for using labels, it's a nice way to get around the "broken" search function on blogger.
At least the comments notification is working again. :)
Thanks,
Warren

I thought this was a cartoon when I first saw it :).

Actually, it was a tube-shaped character with a fan blowing into it to make it stand up.
Bet it glows in the dark too.
Good catch Eric

I don't really get a lonely feel, though I can see how it could be viewed that way as well, given that it was Thanksgiving and he was alone.. But to me, viewing it today though, overlooking the day it was taken, it's a very peaceful shot: Lone man walking among the trees thinking about a recent gathering, from where he is coming, contemplating close relationships, planning out his next weekend visits with friends and family, reminiscing within his own conscious scrolling of memories... jokes, friendly people he's met, family pets... It's quite nice, really (that is, if you overlook the context in which is was taken :)
Wow, it sure doesn't feel lonely anymore! LOL!! :o)
Eric
Really nice shot! It wouldn't have been the same without the lone figure.
--WT
Thx, Warren. The lone figure is small, but really adds to the photo. I have a series of shots with out the figure and it isn't as...complete.

That is a really bizarre looking sculpture. I wonder if it's the same artist that created the huge temporary sculptures at the Embarcadero?
These shots are show excellent usage of a wide angle perspective to capture the immense sculpture along with its surroundings.
I like the B&W shot because it looks like the creature is about to devour the apartment building :).

Thx. And you're right, it is a very bizarre sculpture. It really reminded me of sc-fi movies I saw as a kid. I had a lot of fun shooting these.
WOW that's amazing! I love these :D
..really awesome!
Thank you, Lea. The sculptor did a very interesting job. I don't know if you know the group Genesis from the days of Peter Gabriel (the 70's). This monster reminds of an old song the did called, "Return of the Giant Hogweed." The sculptor did his/her job. The piece made me think, imagine, and have fun. Good artist if you ask me.

I really like the simplicity and subtleties of this photo. Great vertical lines in the trees, helped out by the tall lines in/on the white wall behind them; I don't know if it's shadows or pillars making those lines but they are terrific for bringing your attention to the lush green trees! Overall composition is just so casual and inviting.. the sun casting shadows... and good use of the entire photo. Really nice! :)
Wow, thx Lea. I was walking by and took a peek in. Talk about an inviting place to have lunch.
Eric
Really nice composition, Eric! I like the use of the vertical format and the placement of the 3 trees which accentuate the spatiousness of the location.

Thx, Warren. I like this shot.

Eric,
I really like this shot. Warrean and Lea said it best about the lines. The one line that I picked up on was the people setting so upright, they match the trees and lines on the white walls. Very nice.

Well done Kash, nice feeling of the scene and her distant thoughts, especially in the first with the sleeping dog.
Dan
Hi Kash, welcome to the gang!
Very nice photos, especially the 2nd one.
Very nice street capture, great portrait of second one...
Lena,
I like the repeated elbow bends that point at her sitting there behind the bench. << Great expressions in both.
Lea beat me to it! I also noticed the circle of elbows and knees (even the dog's), which made image #1 interesting to look at. I also like the woman's expression in #1. That's why I like #1 more the #2.
--WT
Haha! I was wondering if any of you would catch the fact that there are more elbows than faces in that image! I was about to crop the dog and the elbows out but decided to leave them in there because of the repetition of elbows.
Keshav: technically, in order for it to be a REAL Strangers Project entry, you needed to introduce yourself, ask permission to take her picture (the subject knowingly lets you take the picture) and find out her name and some interesting fact about her! Try that next time. It's okay to leave the tag on this one, we're not that strict. :)
