The dogs look somewhat happier than the professional. This kind of falls into what we were discussing as a long term project of people earning a living. Nice Warren

LOl, I love it....
Dan I think he is having that same discussion with himself at that very moment. Although i must say the dogs look satisfied and content.
There is definitely an art to his job.

Warren,
Where did you take this from? I can't recall this angle with land and the bridge.
Wonderful photo and from an angle you don't see.

Dolph, this is on the beach, next to the inlet to the Crissy Field Lagoon. Sometimes at high tide, the water spills onto the beach and causes a mini-lagoon on the beach.

Interesting Presidio Architecture
It was a beautiful, clear winter day out at Crissy Field. This picture was taken today, but I processed it to look more 'vintage'.

i just got that 24 as well, great for easy street shots, much prefer it to the 28. - Warren T. said...

Thanks Joe, if you look back or do a search here, you'll see that I have posted a lot of images taken with my D100/24mm f2.8 combo. I often like to go on outings with only the 24mm or 28mm on the D100.

Dolph, we can do some tai chi at that spot the next time you're out to SF.

I guess watching. Resting. Making someone else wait. ;) Backpack and sweater in hand... that's gotta tire you a bit.

Clouds and reflections are so pronounced, cameras are amazing! Did you lighten the photo up with software or is this just from camera settings? Pretty cool :)

Wow, I wouldn't have bothered trying to take a photo, but I'm sure glad *you* did. This is a beautiful image! The "grain" actually adds to the image.

Thanks for the comments :).
Lea, I lightened the image with Photoshop. The old technology of the SD300 (highest ISO is 400 and with lots of digital noise) could barely eek out an image. So instead of wrestling with it to reduce noise, I sort of incorporated it into the final image.

Warren,
Not typical of your work. I like the composition and the use of the noise. Looks very old!

Thanks Dolph. I played with converting this to B&W, but IMO it worked better with the colored noise/dots. It's sort of like an impressionist painting, IMO.

Warren,
A difficult shot. What is interesting is that the lights of the cars on the bridge appear to be standing still. Maybe they aren't the car headlights but lights on the bridge.
I like the second shot the best.
Thanks,

Shot of a Warehouse Window

Got a shot of this old window in an abandoned warehouse at Crissy Field in San Francisco. It's very interesting. The City has converted this area to a great outdoor recreation area, and many of the old warehouses there have been converted to recreational facilities. There's everything from fun gym classes for kids to rock climbing.

A note about labels: On Blogger (as opposed to Aminus3), you can have spaces in your labels, but you need to separate them with commas otherwise it will consider the entire phrase to be the label.
Also, please try to use labels that already exist before creating a new one.
Thanks for using labels, it's a nice way to get around the "broken" search function on blogger.
At least the comments notification is working again. :)
Thanks,
Warren
