Fun shots!
Interesting squareness in the Opposing Forces pic.. nothing quite square... the poses are quirky and the angles are awkward. The smiling shoelace line (that is not straight) is very friendly, with the bright green and yellow, and park visitors. #4 Very thoughtful and an awesome find... They're definitely *reddy* for the change in fuels. Toothy tunnel frame is nice. Feels a bit off-center but I like the concept of framed by a tunnel.
I am with Lea, that #4 is a nice image with the lens accentuating the shape of the landscape hardscape interface. I also enjoy #8 because of the unique geometry you captured. Is it me or does this sensor seem to have more DR than the Lumix of the same vintage?
Dan
Dan, according to some test charts that I saw, the E-P1 and G1 dynamic range are almost identical. Maybe I'm just better at post-processing these days... :)

#2 - Very pleasing curve of the pond, plus the nice contrast in tonality between the darks and light in the water and the dark water along the lighter-colored border of the pond.
#3 An intriguing shape that you made using the low angle and perspective stretching of a wide-angle view!
#6 Lovely subject, nicely framed.
#8 Beautiful composition you created by getting in close and the way the stems bow outward in a nice, symmetrical way. Also, before I saw the captuion, it left me wondering a bit - that' a good thing!
Beautiful and lovely Dahlia, great close up shot. I also like #6 image, great framing.
Lena...
Psychedelic. o,O
Lovely colors, nice texture...
Lena,
Great composition created by a different angle than we would normally look at this type of subject.

A very good photo, and a very good question!
History....I think we also like photos of lines, shadows, and texture. All of those elements are in this picture.
Nice....

Great detail and textures, nice framing.

Great abstract, would never guess it is GGB.
Dan
Very cool! Great idea :)
Wow. Great details given the distance and zoom used.

Nice abstract!
Beautiful pattern. fine color, nice light capture !
Lena.
Love this photo!!

This should actually be titled: After and Before, but Before and After is the "normal" way to phrase it :).

When I first viewed the image I really liked it, but after viewing it more closely, I kind of get distracted, by too many lines. Just me maybe.
Dan
Story behind this one: It was on the day of the Blue Angels airshow. We met Dan, Lea, and Tyler at the Peace Plaza in Japantown. As we walked through the plaza, there were rows of chairs set up for a concert. It was a sunny, crisp day, and I was struck by the bright light contrasted by the dark chairs and the shadows under the chairs. I would consider this a "warm up"' shot, like I described a while back.
When I was reviewing my shots, I tried various crops and was never really satisfied with any of them, and I also considered leaving it in color vs. doing a B&W conversion.
Anyway, I thought I'd post it here to try and stimulate some discussion. It's okay to say that it didn't work for you (any of you) :).
--Warren
I think it's great in b&w. The ambiguity between the shadows and chair legs works well... Maybe raising the camera a little higher would have made it a little more dynamic... I'm picturing myself also rotating the camera 45 degrees ccw, closer, and higher..
Hopefully that was constructive.. ?... D:

Wow, this is an amazing image!
To me, it looks like a flying prehistoric ancestor of horseshoe crab ;-)
Marine hologram, it's been shot by a poison dart and is now emerging into its physical state, drying to a skeleton..... :O Very cool abstract!
It reminds me of a Native American prayer shawl. Nice Warren
Dan
Otherwordly Warren, kind of reminds me of 1950s scifi. Great eye for composition.
Dan
So wonderfully complex. Finding light and colour in the dark, and shadow shapes in the light areas. It has a yin yang boomerang feel to it, sending me searching back and forth for opposing and complementary ideas.
One of those pictures that you have to look at and it makes you look for more. Even after looking at this several times, it makes you look again and again to see if you can find more.

I too watched you compose this image in the alley. Very compelling and aptly titled, nice vision Warren.
Dan
Very nice composition, making something quite remarkable out of something ordinary.
I love the title, too - one of my favorite songs.
"The Long and Winding Road" would make a nice theme for a Monthly Project. BTW, we haven't done one for over a year! Maybe we should revive it again to see if we can get the lurkers to surface and post something.
What do you think?
--Warren
What makes this work for me is the use of light, where the brightness removes our ability to see the lines.
**Dolph
Wonderful colors, lines and texture. The leaf seems odd because the stem is opposite of what I would expect. I found myself staring at this for some time because of all the detail.

Wow, really nice shots, Steve. :)
thanks for posting them here. I'm happy that you're enjoying the Nikons that I gave you.

That bystander in the upper right background is interesting (in a kind of creepy way). :)
--Warren
"..in a kind of creepy way.."
I agree ;-) I wish I had moved a little to the right to keep him out of the frame. He was just an innocent bystander, but this viewpoint makes it look like he's lurking in the shadows.
Warren, BTW, I just received a very clean Nikon 43-86 zoom 427 in an eBay auction - it makes a nicely balanced and not too heavy mate to the Nikon F2 you gave me... I'm gonna try to shoot that set this weekend.
Very cool that you have a 43-86mm to go with the F2. I can't wait to see your F2 shots. --WT
That's a great photo Steve. I like the 43-86 zoom. I have an early one, and while the extremes of the range have distortions, the low contrast can give some nice glow and old camera looks. Really nice with film!

Excellent abstract, great composition, nice shot...:-)
Lena,
Love it... I'm still wondering (but that's a good thing ;-)
Awesome Abstract! I am with Steve, still wondering what it is - but I love it.
I am also excited to see you used the 85mm 1.8 I ordered one last night.
~Carl~
Eerie sci-fi feeling... D:
Nice abstract Warren, great composition and color.
