Both really nice, Joe. D90 with Micro-Nikkor?
I like the lamp picture a lot. It has a mysterious atmosphere that invokes my imagination.
The 2nd picture makes me wonder what you just ate, LOL! :P :)

d90 with 50/1.8...just finished breakfast.
A nice hug for the lamp from its holder, well spotted! Nice dim lighting.
Great shot, Dolph :). Yes, I played with Matchbox until Hot Wheels came on the market and took over.
Was this a car show in Florida?

Nice tone. The big guy looks scary.

I can hear the banjos from across the continent Dolph, I like the use of the sepia tone to set the feeling.
Dan
Her focus is in the spotlight while her hands draw the space in her mind we cannot see, in the shadow... The lighting is a great parallel to the experience.
Really nice color and clarity on these shots :) How do you like the D90, Joe?
--WT
still getting used to it...but mostly liking it ok...love that 40 micro nikkor though! it will likely make me keep the d90!

Nicely done Warren, the colors and shadows are perfect.
Dan
I love the lines in the water, they add a lot of interest in the shape of the bird's silhouette. Great timing and nice caption with it too. I've never noticed their feet scratching up the ground, I'll watch for that next time :)

I like the placement off center Lea, nice
Dan
Cool photo, Lea, but I must admit that I have no idea what this is :).

it's a drawing of medusa, but it's drawn so that its reflection is perfect rather than the drawing itself.
Oh! I see now. That's very clever :)
Ohhh I love the ripples in the water.. Beautiful detail!
The B and W quality really makes this Warren.
Dan
I like the 'implied surroundings' concept :) Also, good use of the 1:1 format.
great light

Dunno what it is but It's playing Cat's Cradle ..waiting for you to take your turn ;) Nice find!
I would venture to say it is a passion flower.
Dan
You have really been exploring the use of B and W and this image really benefits from your use nicely. Have you been using any of the old film type settings?
Dan
Thanks Dan. If I use a film preset, I tend to choose the films that I'm familiar with: Tri-X or Plus-X. On this image, I chose the Kodak Plus-X preset, and then went from there.

The three rays of light perfectly focus our attention to the shore bird. Beautiful
Dan
