Egret at Elkhorn Slough
Panasonic DMC-G1, Lumix 45-200mm
Wildlife silhouette art :)
An egret hunts at sunset, the golden light creates a great background for a profile shot of the bird.
I watched the bird's hunting technique with great interest. Have you ever seen this? It would stir up the silt with one of its claws to disturb the creatures that live in there. The egret sees it and snatches it quickly with its beak.

Nicely done Warren, the colors and shadows are perfect.

I love the lines in the water, they add a lot of interest in the shape of the bird's silhouette. Great timing and nice caption with it too. I've never noticed their feet scratching up the ground, I'll watch for that next time :)
