Vintage Scene

Lumix LF1

This was shot in Carmel during the Motorsport Reunion Week. It was in the early evening, and I had a really nolstalgic feeling when looking at this vintage Porsche 550. When I took the picture, I had a B&W image in mind.

Too bad the car had a a web site address graphic on it, which kind of ruined the illusion. :)

The Lone Cypress Lookout Point, Carmel, CA

Lumix G5, Lumix 14-45mm

(Edited 7/13/2013 with corrections)

Oops! I changed the title to this because this tree is not THE Lone Cypress, but another tree that is near to the actual tree.

This was shot last March, yes it was a long time ago, but I have not had time to post it until now. We just returned from our 3 month trip to Europe.

We were in Carmel in March, and decided to see 17-Mile Drive again.

Nice silhouette Warren, as a point of clarification I believe prior to its demise it was a Monterey Pine. I like how the rail frames the trunk and leads your eye up to the canopy. Good composition.

I down loaded and blew up the image and you are right Warren it is a Cypress.

Whoops, so much for the Tree Expert moniker.

Chrome Hinge

Panasonic DMC-G1, Lumix 14-45mm

We were at the annual Monterey Historic Motorsports Reunion (formerly known as the Monterey Historic Automobile Races) last week. This was seen on the fender of a classic, silver Bentley.

A Very Fat Squirrel

Panasonic DMC-G1, Micro-Nikkor 200mm f4

Here is a very well fed squirrel that we saw at the parking lot of the Bird Rock viewpoint on 17 Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, CA.

The 200mm f4 Micro-Nikkor is a good match with the G1.
