waiting for noodles

This was taken a couple of years ago with a small Kodak dc280 two megapixel digicam. We were waiting for noodles, and I was taking pictures of things on the table. Opened in Picassa, slightly cropped, b&w, and film grain applied. Posted by Picasa

Mifune @ J-town? Great noodles there :).

I like the composition, it has nice diagonals fanning out from the lower left corner, and the black patch is a nice balancing element.

The thumbnail looks great, but when viewing the full-sized image, I can see that the point of focus is at the top-right of the image thus rendering the big "mifune" letters a bit out of focus. Too bad, because it would have even better if everything was in sharp focus :).

I like the subtle grain effect (not overdone).

This also reminded me of a previous post: http://fpcf.blogspot.com/2005/08/dmc-logo-study.html

Hi Warren, yes, it is the one in J-town. Thanks for pointing out the out of focus part, I didn't previously notice it.

yes, it is great. It's my mom's favorite noodle place, and maybe used to be mind.

I've been enjoying Ramen Club in Burlingame, Himawari and Santa Ramen in San Mateo, and a few others. They're all good, but they're all missing something from one I used to frequent while in Tokyo. I can't pinpoint the exact ingredient, so I'll have to go back there, and hope they're still open with the same chef!!
