Portrait of Nikka

Nikon D100, Nikkor 85mm f1.8D AF

We're catsitting Nikka for a week. She is the most affectionate and lovable cat that we've ever known, a real sweetheart.

That's a great shot of a very beautiful cat Warren, in a serious portrait pose. The colorful collar on her white neck adds a lot.

I see a purple flare to the R of her neck? Also, initially I thought her left eye was slightly darker, but then noticed her left side has darker hair.

Thanks Ted. Yeah, that's a big flare spot :). I didn't have time to attach the lens hood because I wasn't sure when she would decide to hop off of the chair that she just jumped on.

It's fun taking close up portraits of pets. With a dog and cat, I have good subjects, if I can just get them to sit still long enough. Nice shot. The purple on the right shoulder looks very strange. Can't say I've ever seen a flare like that.

I think the purple on the cat collar is the tag, not a flare. I seem to remember seeing a purple tag the other nite when I went to visit the cat.

Eric, you got it! I forgot all about her purple tag! That's what the purple thing is, it's not flare.
