Let's raise a glass
I thought about adjusting the levels a bit, but I thought the emphasis was best left on the flutes. 5D with 24-70L f2.8 at 1/60s f/2.8 ISO400 28mm. Flash with Demb diffuser.
It was a grand and elegant wedding. And I had a glass or three.
OK, here's the re-eddited shot. I removed the rear server and cropped out the guy to the right. As for the white doorway, I thought about cropping it out, but the framing of the shot might have been too tight so I cloned it away.

Hi Tom,
Nice capture. Did you see this before or after you had a few? :)
I think you can adjust the levels to make the flutes stand out better and still leave the background dark. I would also crop out the waiter on the far right and perhaps the barely visible vertical white line.
I made a version similar to how I described it. I can email it to you or post it if you'd like.

Interesting shot. Looks almost magical. Just crop out the glasses on the right and it would be a tighter composition. I like.

Very nice Tom, I think I'd also crop out the reflections on the R, and maybe even the vertical white door stripe to really focus on the glasses.
Everything's been said already but I'll just chime in and say ditto. I like that you only see the white shirt of the waiter holding the tray. The other figures in the background are distracting. Otherwise, very nice shot.
The revision look great! I like it better than the original.

Yes, definitely much better. Emphasis on the main subject. Now the floor below the tray is distracting but that's just being very picky now.
Nice crop job! The photo is tight and it look really good. The glasses really pull your eye to the photo!

Tom,
This is an outstanding very artistic shot! You should enter it in some photo contests. Its a winner in my book.
Just one thing. I would burn in the white stuff under the tray. I've done stuff like that using a new layer of softlight, 50% gray and brushing to darken.
