Kickoff for Sept. Project

On a previous post this year entitled Rainy Morning on Swinging Bridge, I chose that image because I thought the dark sky depicted the heaviness felt in the Valley at the time.   I took perhaps 27 images over the course of a half an hour in order to process three pano images. In looking for something to kick-off this month's project prior to getting out and shooting some new images, I thought perhaps a different interpretation of this moment looking at the Falls, with the sky less dramatic and the foreground water more reflective added something completely different to what is essentially the same composition. What do you all think? Nikon d800e, Nikon 70-200 2.8.

Hi Dan,

They are both very nice. I agree that they are completely different. I would consider them different compositions with differing emphasis. On your original shot, I might have included more of the dark sky and less of the river. On the current one, I wouldn't change anything.

Thanks for kicking off this month's project!

The clouds become liquid down the falls.. Majestic and peaceful. I love the layers of fog at the top. I can't seem to find the previous post to compare with though... hmm...
