Nice pairing!
It brought to my mind the Catherine Feeny song Unsteady Ground. Perhaps providing an interpretation of those "earthly endeavors" we would wish to be above.
The darkness under the wings is very bold. Makes you wonder what is reflected outward from earth.
I like the feeling as I read: first consuming the air and becoming weightless, and then looking back to Earth and seeing at what I am. It's like an out-of-body experience ;)

Lena,
Look Out it is the Birds.....Did you take these pictures in Bodega Bay? I like the third picture with all the detail. I agree with Lena that you have really captured the detail with all the movement. Nice!

Dolph, these were taken at Pacifica.

We will have to send you to the GG Audubon Society because of all the great work you are doing with birds

WOW, that's all I can say!!! I cant believe how crisp and clear they are while moving!? The woes of being the grasshopper.
The second shot conveys the feeling of flight so well! Its head stays upright while the wings take on these angles.. A good workout for the neck! Weeeee, above the clouds!
