I finally got a shot of a cow on the road. 

Then they ran from me

I Photographed my best friends wedding 

We met new friends 

We took a side trip to a mountain before coming home. Because we felt like it.

Fireworks 2014

Nikon D7000 - 18-105 F/11-F/16 BulbMode - No trigger - that must have fallen on the ground somewhere.


A couple of the firework shots I took. I messed up and took a picture of the cat before we left and when I  got out there and fought my way to a spot I could shoot. My ISO was on 600 as apposed to the 100 I thought it was set on. And in the pitch black surrounded by people it was less than desirable fumbling around in the dark while my camera was attached to the tripod 15 mins in to the fireworks show. So I have to find some new fireworks to shoot to see how much difference it would have made.(I think a lot) or wait another year to try this again.

Portraits - Success in Self Doubt

We were going to do some long exposure shots with sparklers last night when the sky opened up into a torrential down poor causing us to change our plans. I was instantly thrust into a situation filled with personal doubt and unrelenting butterflies. The girls still wanted the photo shoot I promised.  What was I gonna do? A tiny apt filled with a house worth of items and no bare walls?

After 20 mins of pondering the situation and my options I slipped out the door to grab my light table I built out of translucent acrylic to use as my soft box and a white bed sheet from the closet as my back drop.

We moved the couch, table and two love seats to one side of the room barricading us in from the outside world. This gave me about a 4' x 4' space to work in unless I was standing on something.

These are a couple of the photos I shot from what ended up being an amazing experience and learning process. Not to mention the girls are very happy to.
