Divers Monument

Nikon F2, 300mm f4.5, Fuji Superia 400

This is kind of static, but I was trying to make a reasonable image out of it by incorporating the cruise ship and Monterey Bay in the background.

Warren, for my edification. Why did you not increase the DOF to include the ship?

Dan,

- The subject is a memorial, so I wanted it to be the focal point. The blurry background sort of suggests memories, or the distant past, or a similar feeling, so I made sure to include a vessel, which you can still make out as a vessel even though it's blurry.

- I wanted to see if my idea would work on the actual image.

By the way, how does it feel to see your old equipment back in action? :)

Ok I see what you were trying to convey, glad you are using it so effectively. Since I switched to Canon, it was in the basement and did not want it to get mold. Today I should get back the first set of negatives from the Canon 1v seemed to work very well with the EOS lenses I have in my kit. I will scan them in and see what comes out.
