o Fog...

I really like what fog can do to a scene. This shot - minus the fog - is beautified by blue sky and blue ocean.. but instead! the fog adds some *mystery* to the scene! There could be things we don't know about... There could be an entire story waiting to be told from this awesome imagery! The creepy sibling, former siamese rock garden, is plotting to take over the scraggly undeserving one who always manages to be in focus and out of the mist. Look -he doesn't even comb his hair and stand up straight! ughh! Sloppy, loveable Scraggles was so happy when the water finally eroded his connection to his annoying, righteous brother Poised. The two were never in agreement but no matter how dignified Poised was in each argument, it was Scraggles who somehow *repeatedly* stole the smiling affection of trekkers passing by! But yes, as you can imagine - Poised has been stirring for years .. Unable to take this grotesque situation anymore, he is now just waiting for the perfect moment to cast a rogue wave at Scraggles and finish him off. He is so unwilling to look half decent for visitors, has even made them laugh and point... his rocks continue to crumble and Scraggles continues to upkeep nothing but his own sloppiness. Someday though.. someday, we will only see one rock garden. And the limelight will be claimed by the virtuous rock garden... the right rock garden... the deserving rock garden... dun duNN DUHHHH!!! Yes, someday we will only see Poised sitting there. And the fog will lift and the beautiful blue sky will return. ooOOooooo...

Lea, I feel a Japanese epic from this scene. Great ancient conflict. Well stated and shot

Warren -thank you, it's on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island in BC Canada. It's a weeklong hike in the middle of nowhere. Very cool.

Dan -great, Japanese! that's totally cool. i felt these rock gardens' story had a somewhat classic, or timeless appeal. Happy you see it too :)
