Preening Pelican

Continuing our parade of wildlife pictures, here's one of a group of pelicans who managed to sneak in unnoticed, between the feuding cormorants and sea lions.

We usually see them doing low level fly-bys skimming over the water. I was never able to get this close of a sighting before. I noticed the velvety neck on this one.
