Foggy Lake Merced #2
As I mentioned in my previous posts, I did some shooting at Lake Merced the other day. I wanted to finish a roll of Ilford XP2 in my Nikon F2s. I also had my D100 that day, and I shot similar scenes with both cameras, and I used both lenses on both cameras (105mm/ai/mf and 24mm/af).
There are some obvious compositional differences between the two pictures, and the fog shifted a little bit, but aside from that, how would you compare the two images?

Warren,
Make me home sick! I like the top picture because the fog is more visable. The small tree on the left compared to the big tree on the right.
Nice "home sick" shot.
Hey Warren,
Interesting idea to compare very similar shots!
I am more intrigued by the second picture. It has a greater sense of depth because the fog is not as thick -- it's like adding a whole new dimension to this photographed world. You feel like travelling into the picture is almost possible.
There is almost too much white space in the first. Perhaps the cropping helps the second pic in this case though..
It looks like there is more contrast in the second pic as well. The foreground is darker/richer than in the first, and in the large tree on the right as well. The contrast is a bit more attention grabbing I think.
I suppose depending on what you wanted to accomplish though, either pic is great! You seem to have stirred some emotion in Dolph with the first ;)
Yeah, I figure if I torture Dolph enough with pictures of the S.F. Bay Area, he would be forced to move back here sooner than later :).
