Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Here is a picture I took just a few days ago when we were in San Diego. This was taken from Seaport Village overlooking San Diego Bay. I was testing my new 80-200mm 2.8 Nikon lens by trying to track flying birds. It was challenging. I was rewarded with some decent shots. This was one of them.

Benson,
I recently returned from Alaska trying to take similar shots. This is a very difficult shot with the movement and the long lens. You did a great job working with focus, distance, and movement.

Thanks Dolph. While along the bay at Seaport Village I noticed some birds that would dive into the water to look for fish to eat. I was actually hoping to catch one either going into the water or coming out. The challenge was to track the bird's flight with such a long focal length. A lot of times I would lose it in my tight field of view. You don't know how many shots I trashed. I have a few others as well but this one was the most interesting with the look of the water.
