USS Wisconsin

Hi Guys! I've been in a photo-slump lately - not much time for photos, and the ones I've been taking have been nothing to write home about.

But here's one that's OK, I think - I was in Norfolk last month for a bat-mitzvah, and that Sunday morning, I walked to the waterfront, where the USS Wisconsin is permanently birthed.

When I saw the Wisconsin, I thought primarily of B&W, so I converted this photo - taken with my Digital Rebel DSLR.

I've been in a photo slump also but in the last month or so I have taken so many pictures that now I am backlogged with post-processing. I hope to have some pix up from our trips to Yosemite and San Diego soon.

I love wide angle shots. I really like how the you can see the front of the ship in great detail yet can see almost to the end of it also. Very clear shot. Works well in B&W.

Hey, long time not post, Steve :).

This picture in incredibly sharp, and it does work well in B&W.

It's interesting how the ship's hull is turned almost into an abstract design element when shot from this angle and perspective. You don't really get the sense that this is a battleship because you can't see the armament from this angle.
