Composite Images of the Bridge

On a rare sunny August sunset in San Francisco, I spent a little time on Hawkhill.  Both images are composites.  The first is a stitched and the second is a HDR.  For me I prefer the stitch.  What does everyone else think?  I used a GND filter for the stitched image and it seems a tad more realistic.  Leica M9, CV 35mm Nokton

Dan, I like the stitched image more than the HDR. I agree, the stitched one seems more realistic.

Dan,
I like the stiched image more because of darker colors. On the HDR, do you know the settings you used and how many pictures. I'm reading about taking some HDR and am curious.

Dolph, I used 3 images, bracketed 1/3 of an ev apart. All of the settings were left at default. I then did some minor clean up in LR on the resulting TIFF file. I continue to be less than enthusiastic about HDR and it maybe more related to my skills than the technique. I look forward to looking at your efforts. One thing I think is essential is the use of a very steady platform during the capture. This image was done with my camera resting on a guardrail, but a tripod is usually called for.
