Piazza della Minerva, Rome

 D7000 f4.8 50mm 1/125

While wandering the alleys of Rome, we found this old Egyptian statue that had been taken and never returned.  It is remarkable that after all the years the details still remain.

At the base of the elephant statue was this little boy that was ready to jump off the steps.  He teased his mother, and finally when his dad came running up to made the big leap.

The tension of the sculpture is enhanced by the symmetry of the background. Very cool!
