:-) :-) A great catch! Looks like both dad and baby are paying rapt attention to something. It brings back very good memories - last time my son was small enough for this is about 18 years ago, if not longer.

Sorry to have been so absent - I'm still finishing up the editing of the wedding photos (I already gave them a DVD with about 225 photos, but we took lots more.) As soon as I'm finished with these, probably this weekend, I can start editing the bat-mitzvah photos I took more recently - but that's a *much* smaller job.

Best regards,
SteveR

Nice to hear from you, Steve. Actually, it's nice to hear from ANYONE here :), this joint has been too quiet lately.

This shot was taken at a local street fair. The dad and baby were intently watching a performance on the stage.

I'd love to see a few more pictures from your wedding shoot.

Photos from our Alaska Cruise and Canada Vacation

The Orca's were abundant in Victoria, British Columbia during our whale watching tour. The Glacier shots were taken from our Alaska Cruise in Early July. Alaska is a phenomenal place with incredible landscape and wild life. We will be going back soon.

Great pictures. During our Alaskan cruise we did not see any orcas but did see a few humpback whales. I see that you were able to get really close to the glaciers.

I agree with you that Alaska is just so beautiful and really seems untouched by human contact, which may be why its still beautiful. We were in Alaska around the same time but for us the weather was very gloomy.

Benson,

Thanks. We saw a few humpbacks but they weren't very active, at least not when compared to Maui. Our friends that went whale watching during the cruise saw humpbacks from about twenty feet and orcas as well from a bit further away. Our cruise ship (Princess) got pretty close to some huge Glaciers. I got some Grizzly bear shots too but from quite a distance away (didn't have the right lens either) so they look ho-hum and not worth posting.

The Orca in the picture was shot in Victoria area during our whale watching tour on a small 20 foot boat.

Welcome back, Steve. It's been a while :). I was beginning to wonder if you've abandoned us.

This is a great use of shallow DOF and panning, and it's nicely composed too. Great capture!

Yeah, I've been AWOL for a long time. I haven't stopped shooting, just didn't get around to posting.
